Chai Chai.... Chai..... Your favourite chai wala

Tea is undoubtedly the singular most consumed beverage in CSC . Having said that, it is not surprising that there are a lot of micro-entrepreneurs who thrive on the business of vending tea outside CSC. It is not far-fetched to say that these chai-walas, as they are fondly called, are a part of a million strong workgroup that can be found in every nook and corner of the country—from busy urban street corners to remote villages, at bus stands, railway platforms, footpaths, outside corporate houses, marketplaces, and many more such places. Ever wondered what are the business dynamics that seperate these micro-entrepreneurs from one another ? Is it the quality of the tea leaves , the milk , the "mystic" ingredient or the "perfect" combination ? What ever the reason we all have our favourite that we swear by. Lets run a popularity poll between two stalwarts in this "Industry" and see who has a better fan following...

  5. Rastogi ji has started to mix milk in water (rather than mixing water in milk) hence the quality of his tea has deteriorated.
Also, given the weather we are witnessing these days, it has to be Pancham's strong ginger tea that rocks the street !- Afzal

  9. Pancham is anyday better than Rastogi..Maybe it is the ginger which Pancham puts in liberally..or maybe because he uses better quality of tea (incidentally, I know a lot about tea..at home, I use a mix of Darjeeling tea with normal "kadak" tea to get strong tea with flavour..). Pancham comes very close to my concept of a perfect tea.

  12. Pancham Dada is better because of his strong Ginger Tea. Rastogi Ji sometimes mix more water or forgets to add sugar. Also, one has to wait long in Rastogi Ji shop. Pancham is good in time management. My vote goes to Pancham......

  25. Well.. I started with Pancham.. However his Philosophy has changed over time. He has become (Too Much)Money Minded, Charging 4 Rs for a "Cutting" .. No tissues. Bread Butter has gone from 8 Rs to 15 in one year.. So I am Boycotting him for sure..
And since I have shifted to Rastogi Jee.. I am pretty happy wid his tea.. So My Vote goes to Rastogi Jee (Or Gupta Jee)
